Softeq Featuring Disney SyncLink™ Technology

January 04, 2014

January 4, 2014 — Houston, TX — Known for its world-famous theme parks and resorts, Disney was among the first leisure enterprises to focus on accessibility solutions for guests with sensory disabilities. In collaboration with HP and Disney, Softeq Development Corporation built the first handheld device providing assistive services to guests with visual and/or hearing disabilities. The DURATEQ® handheld project was implemented long before smartphones and other similar devices appeared on the market. Softeq, a seasoned provider of embedded software and firmware development services, has been featured in a Disney video highlighting the Disney ACCESS™ System featuring Disney SyncLink™ Technology.

This is one of the technologies that I’m most proud of, because it really makes a difference in people’s lives,” noted Greg Hale, Chief Safety Officer, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Worldwide, in the Disney ACCESS™ System video.

As a Disney SyncLink™ technology licensee, Softeq provided the DURATEQ® assistive technology solution at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort theme parks, 20 National Parks, as well as a steadily growing list of museums and sports venues across North America.
